Mentorship Academy: Year 1 of 3

A Leading Forward Program

The Mentorship Academy program is designed to support the growth of new teachers within a district as well as the instructional coaches and mentors who are engaging in school improvement growth initiatives. This six-day professional learning opportunity (Year I) will help your new teachers develop a well-articulated knowledge base through the following:

  • An introduction to Marzano’s Instructional Framework
  • Examining how the four domains within the Framework will guide continuous growth for each teacher
  • Learning effective pedagogy via opportunities for deliberate practice
  • Training in technology that facilitates communication with their Professional Learning Community facilitators, mentors, and peers about progress toward their identified goals
  • Instruction guided by the Minnesota Standards and connected with each teacher’s site improvement goals/plans
  • Instructional Residency Rounds (onsite)

Your aspiring teachers will receive targeted instruction from recognized experts through onsite visits to their classrooms and by observing the behaviors of master teachers. Come join our learning community as we apply research-based teaching practices through study, application, reflection, and collaborative support!
