The Class 5 Plan for K-12 Schools

The Class 5 Plan for K-12 Schools is a behavior-based energy efficiency program that helps districts decrease energy use and costs, engage staff and students, and receive ENERGY STAR recognition. In addition to the savings, the Plan with help districts:

Saving money and going green are two things that all school districts are interested in.  By using the SEE Program on average a district will see an 8% energy decrease within in the first year and with that savings the program will have paid for itself in at least 18 months.

  • Lower utility bills show tax payers that you are committed to using their investment wisely.
• Improve Learning
  • Energy efficient strategies often result in better lighting, temperature control, acoustics and air quality, which can translate to better learning.
• Preserve the Environment
  • More than 80% of greenhouse gas emissions are from the production, distribution, and disposal of energy.
• Empower Students
  • Instilling wise energy habits in students creates lifelong conservationists and teaches them to care about the impact of their actions.
• Become an Energy Star Partner
  • Benefits include enhanced credibilty, visibility and national recognition through the ENERGY STAR program.
• Build Self-Sufficiency
  • Shifting  everyone in the district toward energy efficient choices ensures that good practices remain in place and continue generating savings month after month, year after year.
