Diversity in the workplace is a reflection of our changing area and marketplace. In this session we will learn a few tools that some organizations have used to understand diversity and ultimately benefit from it. This session is for front line managers, supervisors, HR personnel and others interested in workplace diversity.
Diversity refers to human qualities that are different from our own and those of groups to which we belong; but that are manifested in other individuals and groups. Dimensions of diversity include but are not limited to: age, ethnicity, gender, physical abilities/qualities, race, sexual orientation, educational background, geographic location, income, marital status, military experience, parental status, religious beliefs, work experience and job classification. Science Rocks is a conference designed to introduce 5th and 6th grade students to a variety of science and natural elements through presentations and hands-on learning. ScienceRocks! Conference will be at SCSU on January 5th!
The halls of the Wick Science Building on the campus of St. Cloud State University are filled with 5th and 6th grade future naturalists, mathematicians, geologists and computer programmers as over 600 students and educators participate in the annual Science Rocks! Conference (SR!).

Mystic Seaport, The Museum of America and the Sea, is partnering with Resource Training and Solutions, Pine City Public Schools, and Central Minnesota teachers to offer primary-source, skills-based curriculum and virtual field trips to regional students. This exciting opportunity sets sail on January 16, 2012.
Mystic Seaport, Resource Training and Solutions, and Pine City School District are seeking intermediate, upper elementary gifted and talented, junior high, and senior high school teachers, media specialists, or teams of educators interested in working with Mystic Seaport.
