BBP - OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CR 1910.1030) dictates safeguards to protect workers against the health hazards from exposure to blood and other infectious materials. A sample plan will be available and reviewed. We will discuss the importance of staff training; go over terminology and sample quizzes that have been used for training support staff.

Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in Schools. We will discuss and try to answer questions such as: How is MRSA transmitted? How do I protect myself? If MRSA occurs in my school do we need to close to clean/disinfect? What does MRSA skin infection look like? Does a child have to go home if I suspect they have MRSA?

Pandemic Plan - this has become a hot topic with the recent H1N1 influenza. An overview of how to develop a plan, who needs to be a part of the planning, and the importance of sharing the plan will be discussed. A sample plan will be available and reviewed.
